ActioNet is seeking a Database Administrator to help support a contract with the US Courts in Washington DC. The DBA will be part of a team of database architects, engineers, analysts, and administrators. This will be an engineering and design position operations support. The expectation is that you will work normal core hours but participate in a rotating weekend (Sunday) shift and rotating on-call duties.
Training will be provided for candidates that need it.
Knowledge of database analysis, design, code, and architecture
Develop procedures in multiple application environment
Troubleshoot issues related to database configuration, code and problems with data
Programming experience in SQL, would prefer Unix/Linux shell scripting skills
Knowledge of one of the following databases: Informix/SQL Server/Oracle
Ability to work in an agile platform
Willingness to learn Informix, if knowledgeable on other RDBMS
Perform database import, export, database backups, and extracts as directed
Work with Senior DBA in schema changes for multiple applications
Work with senior DBA in configuring servers and s
Work with data modeling and development teams to create new databases, and replicate data across platforms
Monitor and manage the databases in different lower-end environments
Ability to learn and become proficient in physical/logical database design and development
Ability to learn, Maintain and update data models in ERWin
Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree.
Requires 0 – 5 years of experience in the field
Experience with administering, testing and configuration management of Operating Systems of various centralized application /database servers includes, but is not limited to Sun Solaris, HP Tru64, Linux, and Windows Operating Systems.
Knowledge of Oracle Database in a RAC and in VM environments
Knowledge of Linux (system admin preferred)
Knowledge and experience with Oracle Database Appliance (preferred)
SQL Tuning and advanced query writing
Knowledge and experience with ETL and data warehousing concepts
Experience with Oracle Security and auditing
Use of SQL*Developer and/or TOAD
Use of ERwin and knowledge of data modeling
