Job Responsibilities
ActioNet’s Science & Research Business Unit is seeking a hands-on Chief Technologist to position ActioNet as a recognized partner in helping Federal Civilian agencies develop and execute solutions to further their mission.  Candidates are expected to align priorities with company goals and be passionately focused on promoting the ActioNet brand. In addition, candidates must have an entrepreneurial spirit, relevant industry experience, strong relationship management skills and a proven track record in professional services.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Science & Research Business Unit (SRBU). Duties include supporting the strategic plans, policies, and program management while providing leadership and direction to professional and technical staff. This role is also responsible for building relationships with key executives to pursue opportunities, close deals and help to market ActioNet’s services and capabilities to the client. The following outlines responsibilities:

** Technology

- Reviewing, guiding and shaping Enterprise and Solutions Architectures for Government customers, interacting at the strategic executive level
- Developing and aligning OCIO innovative service offerings with opportunities for emerging IT/Cyber needs, as well as consolidating and connecting existing services
- Establishing technical architecture, along with policy, governance, and standards that embrace platform and device diversity and enabling timely insertion of disruptive technologies
- Engaging and leveraging the best of government, industry, and academia and innovators and sharing the stories across similar communities of practices
- Streamlining, simplifying and modernizing IT solutions by providing recommendations for adoption, acquisition and modernization of enterprise and mission-focused IT 

** Business Development

- Develop strategic and tactical plans to generate revenue
- Identify and influence key decision-makers at all levels within the client organization
- Qualify opportunities against target market, core competencies, revenue potential, company capabilities and projected business forecast;
- Lead the development of proposals to include solution design concepts, deadlines, supply added information, presentation and process/ status tracking;
- Responsible for customer relationship during implementation and transition to operations

** Operations

- Provides leadership and direction for Project and Program management staff, providing client and project management support, leading to high-quality client delivery
- Ensures that project and program managers adhere to ActioNet’s Quality Management System, including the use of ActioNet tools and industry best practices, and ensures that adequate status reporting, reviews and other control tools are employed to keep projects on track and customers fully informed of status
- Ensures that risks and issues identified by PMs are driven to closure. Serves as initial escalation point within the Business Unit for issues escalated up from the project teams
- Implements cross-project/cross-organization reporting. Develops standards and drives implementation of consistent project level reporting among PMs
- Mentors and coaches Business Unit Project and Program Managers, assisting with HR issues, recruiting, and career progression
- Provide overall financial management for task orders to maintain and grow profitability
- Develop and maintain existing customer relationships to foster program growth

** Business Unit Responsibility

- Assists with the development and execution of the Business Unit’s business strategy to chart future growth and strategic goals
- Collaborates on the development and preparation of long-term Business Unit operations budgets
- Act in general oversight activity of daily Business Unit Operations, as well as participating in long-term planning for future Business Unit operational needs
- Represents ActioNet to customers and business partners, building and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Establishes and executes Business Unit program activities including Program Management Office (PMO) activities and Customer Relations Management (CRM) activities
Skills Required
- 6+ years of business development manager experience with Federal Civilian agencies including Commerce, Treasury, Labor, Education, NASA
- 10+ years of experience in managing and leading federal programs
- Comprehensive knowledge of GWACs, IDIQs, contracts/procurement processes & procedures
- Technical expertise in key IT domain areas such as cloud services, cyber security, ITSM, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal technical, management and administrative staff, as well as external customers
- Highly motivated, problem-solving, multi-tasking individual who works well in a fast-paced dynamic environment is essential
- Experience in developing marketing plans for federal accounts
- Proven track record of gaining new business and growing existing clients
- Strong capture and proposal capabilities
- Strong experience in delivering winning proposals
- Bachelor's degree required - Master's preferred
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) 
- Be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to hold a Public Trust clearance or MBI
