Job Responsibilities
This position is located in Washington, DC at the Department of Transportation Headquarters’ Building and is assigned to provide the below described services in support of the project work and operations and maintenance of both a physical and virtual Infrastructure for the Information Technology Shared Services’ (DOT ITSS) organization under the Office of the Secretary Operating Agency. 

The incumbent will be assigned to the Mail Administration and Engineering team.  The DOT team has transitioned from an on premise Exchange environment to a cloud-based Office365 service hybrid solution.  The work is performed in a Microsoft Exchange client/server and O365 Cloud environments that provides services to over 15,000 mailboxes and 12,000 networked PCs (laptops and desktops).  The team also provides engineering and administration services for mobile devices managed by Blackberry Exchange Service (BES10) and by GOOD Mobile Device Management.  
The team member is responsible for the following tasks:

Embrace and evolve our software engineering best practices and methodology
Assist in technical reviews and participate in design sessions
Function as a hands-on technical resource for projects as needed
May also provide technical oversight, peer reviews, and input in developing standards, guidelines and processes for application systems
Lead development of technical specifications, data flows, models and other elements of system design
Solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
Perform other duties as assigned
Participate in additional Email impacting projects  and function as design engineer when required
Act as the Technical escalation team member for the Mail administration team
Develop solutions for complex issues that can’t be resolved by other team members
Perform daily, weekly and monthly housekeeping
Automate common operating tasks and procedures
Manage time and task completing all tasks on time and within SLA’s
Develop tools to assist team members with repetitive or complex tasks

Exchange 2013  (Expert-Level)
Experience with O365 or other Cloud-based email systems
GOOD Mobile Device Technologies (Mid-level)
Blackberry Administration/BES 10.0+ (Mid-level)
